Fall 2009: Opened his senior year fall campaign with a win over Graham Edgar of North Florida in the Georgia Southern Invitational • In the back draw of the UNF Invite Flight “A”, defeated Yannick Jackson of Bethune-Cookman in straight sets • Closed out singles competition with a victory over Miami’s Hector Nieto, 7-5,6-4  • Paired with newcomer Matthijis Verdam in doubles action • Picked up consecutive wins with Verdam to open the GSU Invite • Duo reached the final of the GSU Invite in Flight “A”.

2008-09: Recorded an 11-9 dual match singles record mainly from the two and three positions, respectively • Was an even .500 against SoCon opponents, going 5-5 • Had a match clinching win over Appalachian State upending Peter Jacobs in straight 6-4, 7-5 sets • Went 2-0 in match tiebreakers • Partnered mainly with Philip Prins in doubles action • Duo placed third on the team in wins with nine • Reached the semifinals of the Georgia Southern Invite after defeating Frederic Petrilli of The Citadel • Had a strong run at the UNF Invitational • Topped David Barton of Mercer and Victor Vaz of Jacksonville en route to the quarterfinals match where he faced South Carolina State’s Ivan Milivojevic.

2007-2008: Capped off the season earning All-Conference honors in doubles with primary partner Philip Prins • Went 17-16 overall in doubles action • Posted a 7-1 SoCon mark with Prins at the three seed thereby claiming the most conference wins by a doubles tandem on the team • Went 8-4 overall with Joris De Weerdt • Won a career high 11 matches in singles competition • Was 3-2 in tiebreakers in singles play and 5-3 in 3-set matches • Clinched the North Florida match with a 6-4,7-5 victory over Kurt Garritker

2006-2007: Was a member of the Southern Conference All-Academic team • Finished freshman season with an overall record of 8-13 in singles play, which was good enough for second most wins on the team • Played primarily from the No. 2 singles position tallying a 6-6 record to go along with a 3-5 conference mark • Amassed a 6-6 record in doubles, but was 6-5 with primary doubles partner Joris De Weerdt • Finished the 2006-2007 season with a 1-2 doubles record in conference matches.

Prep: Attended Endeavour High School in Australia • Named Best Tennis Player at Endeavour • Was ranked as high as No. 6 in Belgium • Competed in the Australia Men’s Finals with the Belgian Club Tennis team • Finished 120th in that tournament • Ranked as one of the top 10 players in Belgium as a junior • Trained in Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Romania and all over Europe as a junior player.

Personal: Born March 7, 1986 in Belgium • Son of Christian Bekkers and Isle Roeckens • Majoring in Business • Brother of GSU teammate Thomas Bekkers.
