Fall 2009: Posted a 4-3 fall singles record drawing wins at the GSU Invite, Seminole Invitational and ITA Southeast Regional • Began the season with a win over Tyler Mills of Kennesaw State • Won an opening round match at the Seminole Invitational defeating Bethune-Cookman’s Jeff Smallwood, 6-2,6-1 • Concluded the fall tournament slate with a victory over Kip Jackson, also of Bethune-Cookman, before downing Georgia’s Alex Hill in the ITA Southeast Regional, 6-2,6-4 • Went 2-0 in doubles action with partner Edio Castanhel • The tandem picked up the GSU Invite “B” doubles title surpassing two opponents • Also paired with newcomer Juan Manuel Melian-Puigventos for two matches.
2008-09: Capped off his freshman career with 13 singles wins • Went 8-9 in dual match play • Secured a match clinching win over Davidson’s Calum Gee with a 6-2, 6-3 victory which marked the first win by Georgia Southern over Davidson since 2005 • Also earned conference wins over The Citadel and UNC Greensboro • Was a perfect 5-0 in set tiebreakers on the season • Gained experience by participating in five tournaments • Earned singles victories at the GSU Invite, Crimson Tide Fall Invitational and Seminole Invitational • Met North Florida’s Kurt Gattiker in the semifinal match of the GSU Invitational • Defeated #14 Florida State’s Chris Reiman in the first round of the Seminole Invitational to reach the quarterfinals • Partnered with Mark Paetz and Edio Castanhel in doubles action • Defeated #13 North Carolina’s Maclane Wilkison and Taylor Meyer in the first round of the UNC Fall Invitational pushing them to the quarterfinals • Met #14 Florida State’s Chris Cloer and Ryan Boyajian in the semifinals of the Seminole Invitational after defeating Florida A&M’s David Jackson and Paul Paige in the quarters.
